Adaptive Intelligent Controls

Informing people that a crisis is occurring is crucial, but what if you could use the same products to also stop the crisis in its tracks? CentrAlert’s Adaptive Intelligent Controls can detect environmental factors and initiate protective actions manually or automatically from virtually any external input device or data stream. C-DAC detects environmental factors (such as a gas leak) and initiates protective actions (such as shutting down HVAC). Read on to find out what kind of environmental factor detections and protective action initiations CentrAlert can offer your organization.

Dam Breach Detect

C-DAC can detect dam breaches. Dams can hold back trillions of gallons of water and even a minor could cause devastating destruction and even death. C-DAC can be set up to detect breaches in a dam and immediately notify workers to mitigate the issue as well as notify local citizens so they can get to safety.

Oil and Gas Alert

C-DAC can detect oil, gas or chemical leaks. Industrial plants, military weapons reserves and even some commercial sites face the possibility of oil and gas leaks that can cause explosions, wasted resources and environmental damage. With C-DAC, organizations and communities can rest assured such events will not go unnoticed. CentrAlert’s software and hardware will recognize an oil or gas leak has occurred and send notifications to those who can put a stop to the leak or shut down facility processes.

Lightning Detection

C-DAC can detect and respond to lightning. CentrAlert engineers excel in adapting our tested and reliable hardware and software to perform a variety of functions. For example, at NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center in Hancock County, Mississippi, C-DAC detects lightning and sends out alerts warning workers that they cannot perform their usual duties during the dangerous storm. Read more about this function in our NASA Use Case.

Access Protect

C-DAC can lock and unlock shelter doors. For example, if emergency response teams have trouble reaching restricted areas after an accident on site, C-DAC can cause shelter doors to unlock and/or open, allowing emergency vehicles and personnel to pass through. C-DAC can also initiate lock-down procedures to protect from an active shooter.

Live Alert Protect

Live Alert Protect prevents your organization from accidentally sending out a false live alert. When an operator initiates a live alert, the preview screen displays the message that will go out and produces a unique four-digit code. Before the live alert can be sent, the operator must type in the code. The code (which is not a password) appears on the screen and the operator simply needs to type it in the blank space. Emergency managers can choose to turn Live Alert Protect on or off. Live Alert Protect does not require the operator to type the code for test alerts. The quick additional step makes the operator extra aware that he or she is about to send a live alert.

HVAC Safe

C-DAC can shut down HVAC systems. If an H2S sensor indicates high gas levels, C-DAC can shut down the appropriate Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) to avoid promulgation without operator involvement.
